This site is run by TALCO Labs LLC, publishing as Riddlewood Studio. This page says what we collect and why.

The email list

If you ask for the free pages, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name. We also record which page you signed up from, so we can send you the right thing. We use these only to send you the free pages and to tell you, about twice a month, about new books and the odd free page.

Sign-up is double opt-in: after you submit the form we email you a link to confirm your address, and we only send you our emails once you click it. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time. You can also write to us and we'll remove you.

The form says: "Confirm your address by email and your five pages will be ready to download. After that, about twice a month: news of new books and the odd free page. For grown-ups 18 and over, including parents and teachers." We rely on your consent to send these emails, and Kit records when you signed up and confirmed. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.

We don't sell your details. We don't tick any boxes for you.

How long we keep it

We keep your details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Then we delete them, apart from the minimum record needed to keep you off the list.

Who handles it, and where

Kit (kit.com) holds the email list and sends our emails. Vercel (vercel.com) hosts this site and provides its analytics. Both act as our service providers and process data in the United States, so your details may be transferred outside your country.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including the EU, the UK and California, you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy. We don't sell or share personal data for advertising. Write to us and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Children

The email list is for grown-ups 18 and over. Some of our books are made for children, but they are for adults to buy for them. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you think a child has signed up, tell us and we'll delete it.

Amazon

Our books are sold on Amazon. When you follow a link to Amazon, Amazon's own privacy notice applies there. Today we don't use affiliate links; if that changes, we'll say so on the site.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not use cookies. It uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and where visitors come from. It does not set cookies or follow you across other sites. The single printable pages download without any sign-up.
